3. Variable Amplitude Equalizer with Constant Group Delay
The equalizer to convert the RF signal into a binary signal is important to measure jitter of DVD.
The equalizer is used to boost the 3T signal level (i.e., minimum pit). The amount of the boost level is adjusted according to the optical pickup to be measured.
The phase, group delay characteristic, of the equalizer should not be changed for correct jitter measurement even if boost level is changed.
